COLCA CANYON AND PUNO


The Colca Canyon is one of the most important tourist destinations in Peru. The place is related to the flight of the condor and in the mornings we have many visitors at the cross of the condor to enjoy this wonderful show in which these birds plan following the air pressure, the Colca Valley is located in the province of Caylloma, the Colca Canyon is like the deepest in the world with 4160 meters. (13.65 feet) This trip is recommended to be done in two days to enjoy the hot springs in Chivay or Yanque, and then connect this tour with Lake Titicaca in Puno.

 
 

ITINERARY

  • FIRST DAY

We start the morning with the pick up of the participants between 07:30 - 08:00 am from their hotel, and then head to the Colca Canyon taking the route that connects Puno with Arequipa passing through Yura, the Chachani volcano will be very close, to then pass through Pampa Cañahuas, where the SALINAS AND AGUADA BLANCA NATIONAL RESERVE is located and stop for 10 to 15 minutes to avoid the vicuñas, alpacas and llamas that are in their natural environment, then we will have a second stop to enjoy of the coca tea and do not affect the height since we will be at 3800 meters above sea level. We will continue climbing up to 4800 meters above sea level (viewpoint of the volcanoes). Then we begin the descent to the town of Chivay where we will have a buffet lunch. Finished this we take them to settle in their hotels.

  • SECOND DAY

    Very early we pick you up from your hotel, we will start the trip to one of the deepest canyons in the world. THE COLCA CANYON where the CRUZ DEL CÓNDOR VIEWPOINT is located. Observation place of the spectacular. take unique photos of the most impressive bird in the Andes allowing you to live one of the best experiences of your life. On the way back we will stop at the towns of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque that have beautiful colonial churches; as well as in the viewpoints of Antahuilque and Choquetico from where we can observe the pre-Inca tombs and models and the beautiful landscape of the Colca Valley with its impressive terraces.

    12:00 p.m. approx. We will arrive at the town of Chivay for lunch, and then we will board the bus to Puno, on the way we will appreciate volcanoes at the Patapampa viewpoint at 4910 meters above sea level. Then we will appreciate camelids such as Alpacas, rock formations and Pariwanas or Andean Flamingos. Finally we will arrive in the city of Puno at approximately 7 pm.
