CHOQUEQUIRAO TO MACHU PICCHU

7 DAYS INCREDIBLE TREK


The trek from Choquequirao to Machupicchu is an exclusive route for lovers of adventure and hiking, six wonderful days away from people and being alone with nature, and we will have a full day for both Choquequirao and Machupicchu to give you time to explore where it matters. For this walk, you need to be fit as it is very physical, also you need to have a desire to live unique experiences in places where the you will be the only ones on Inca Trail. The traditional path is rugged, equisitly beautiful and unique.

Choquequirao (cradle of gold) one of the last Inca refuges of the conquest and that many compare to Machupicchu, and for some is more beautiful than the latter. Machupicchu, one of the seven wonders of the modern world and its Inca trails awaits you.

The trek itself begins in Cachora, about 155 km from the city of Cusco, and crossing the Apurimac canyon, the lowest point of our trek will be at the Rosalina bridge, and the highest at the Yanama pass. During the walk we will enjoy the flora and fauna of the landscape.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Cuzco- puppy - Rosaline Beach. (medium effort)

We start the morning by picking up each participant from their hotel, from 5:45 a.m. At 6:00 a.m., we start the 4 hour journey to the town of Cachora (altitude of 2900 meters) We arrive at Huayhuacalle in the next 15 minutes.to meet our support team of horses, mules and muleteers, After everyone's introduction to your new friends, we begin the walk, the path begins with a small ascent. to the Paculiyoc pass, (2,915 masl. / 9,565 feet) from where we can view the Apurimac canyon, the Padreyoc snow-capped peak, and then descend along a zigzag path to lunch in Cocomasana. After lunch the trail will descend to our first campsite at Playa Rosalina.

 

Day 2: Rosalina Beach -

Sunchupata.(high effort)

Starting your day with a hot drink and an early breakfast. Starting our second day of walking, we cross the Rosalina bridge and begin the zigzagging path uphill. towards Maranpata, Taking a stop at the Santa Rosa farmhouse to see the preparation of the sugar cane chicha (CAMBRAY). On to Maranpata ito stop for lunch, this is also close to our Sunchupata camp. This hour trek we see part of Choquequirao, the sector of Paqchac where agricultural terraces can be viewed .

 

Day 3: Choquequirao

We head to Choquequirao, to see the sunrise, spending the whole morning exploring around the citadel, in the afternoon we will visit the Paqchac terraces and the temple to the water, the sacred sector with its Usno in the central part, and other sectors that are still covered by vegetation. The pass takes us past Apurímac and Río Blanco rivers and the Vilcabamba mountain range, Night in Sunchupata.

 


Day 4: Choquequirao -

Cornfield (high effort)

We start walking towards Maizal. We have a regular ascent to the Choquequirao pass, then begin to descend first to Pincha Unuyoc, then arrive at Río Blanco for lunch and cool off in the water. The afternoon will be a pure climb to our camp night.

 

Day 5: Cornfield - Yanama (medium effort)

We continue climbing to the Yanama pass. Passing through silver mines where we can enter the tunnels. After our exploration of the Victoria mine, it's time for lunch. In the afternoon we only have to descend to the town of Yanama, land of weavers, here we will stay to rest.

 

Day 6: Yanama- Santa Teresa - hot waters (zero effort)

We head to Santa Teresa. This day, our journey takes approximately 3 hours, we arrive at the hot springs of Cocalmayo, we enjoy a bath in the hot springs overlooking the Andian mountains, and then head towards the hydroelectric, lunch and train to Aguas Calientes where we stay in a hotel for the night.

 

Day 7: Aguas Calientes - Macchu Picchu - Ollantaytambo - Cusco. (low effort)

We will get up early in the morning to be able to see the sunrise in Machu Picchu and explore around this sacred city of the lost Inca Empire. Your guide we will give a three hour tour. Those who have tickets to Huayna Picchu will have time to climb the mountain; When you finish exploring, we will take the bus to Aguas Calientes, your afternoon is free to look around the traditional markets, walk down the cobbled streets of this unique pedestrian town. Arrive half an hour before the departure time of your train to return to Ollantaytambo and then by car to Cusco, back to your hotel
